First Response (with e-learning) - 18 Nov 19 - Runway’s End

First Response is Module 10 of the Scout training scheme and covers the mandatory first aid requirements for leaders including activity permits such as hillwalking terrain one. The course is also recognised by Girlguiding UK and is suitable for module K of the young leader scheme. This is also open to those doing DofE through Scouting or Hook DofE centre

This course consists of a 2 hour e-learning plus face to face session. The course carries an attendance certificate (sent by email) which lasts for 3 years. We do not offer a refresher course any more, although other districts may.

Please complete the e-learning before attending. We will remind you 2 weeks before. We get a list sent to us just before the course of who has completed.

Is there a charge?

Free for Scout Adult Volunteers and Young Leaders

£8 for Hook DofE or £20 if doing for Skill Section (includes manual) please bring CQ payable to HCSC or pay by BACS to: Hampshire Scouts Sort Code 40-46-39 Account No 51260936.

First Response books are optional and £3. First Aid manuals are £10.

What should I bring/wear?
Please bring a pen with you. There is no need to wear uniform and please wear trousers due to the practical work.

Will refreshments be provided?
Tea, Coffee & Biscuits will be provided. If you have any specific needs (e.g. decaf, soya milk), please bring your own on this occasion.

Is this a First AId Qualification?
This course is a Scout First Aid awareness course and not a full first aid qualification.

Is the course open to non-Scouts?
This course is only open to Young Leaders, Explorer Scouts, Network Scouts, Leaders, Other Adult members of Scouting and Guide Leaders. It is not open to the general public.

Is there an age limit to attend the course?
The course is open to DofE. Young Leaders and Leaders, so the minimum age is 13.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? (See address on ticket)
Runway's End - there is parking on site. Please park considerately and follow directions of any marshalls.

The nearest rail station is Aldershot or Farnborough Main, if you need collection from these stations, please let us know in advance.
